Commission process

You approve each major step before production begins

You receive an estimated price and schedule before design starts. Then you review the concept, sketch, and final price. If the project uses CAD or another detailed production design, you approve that too.

    Tell me about the piece

    Send the character references, the features that matter most, the type and size of the piece, your material ideas, budget, timing needs, and permission to use the references.

  2. 02

    Make sure it can be made and worn comfortably

    I look at the character details, comfort, durability, technical needs, specialist work, and timing before recommending how to build the piece.

  3. 03

    Receive an estimated price and schedule

    You receive both before deciding whether to pay the design fee and continue.

  4. 04

    $250 design fee

    The credited fee begins design and becomes non-refundable after design work starts.

  5. 05

    First concept

    I develop one concept around the character, the kind of piece you want, the material, comfort, and your budget.

  6. 06

    Up to two rounds of changes

    One round is one collected list of changes to the current design. A new direction or extra concept may change the price or timing, but I will explain that before adding any cost.

  7. 07

    Approve the sketch and final price

    You see and approve both before production planning moves ahead.

  8. 08

    First production payment

    For complex projects, half of the amount left after the design fee is generally due before CAD or other detailed design work begins.

  9. 09

    CAD or detailed design, if needed

    The approved sketch is turned into the technical design needed to make the piece. A specialist may help with this step.

  10. 10

    Approve the CAD

    If CAD or another detailed design is used, you approve it. Small adjustments may be needed for strength, comfort, casting, or stone security, but you will approve any meaningful change to the appearance.

  11. 11

    Final production payment

    The remaining balance is due before casting or before materials and stones are purchased. Your quote will explain the payment schedule for simpler projects without CAD.

  12. 12

    Make, inspect, and ship the piece

    Established U.S. jewelry specialists may help with casting, setting, engraving, enamel, polishing, or finishing. I coordinate the work, inspect the finished piece, and arrange tracked shipping.

What can change the price

Size, materials, and the amount of work.

Weight, metal, stones, settings, sculpting, casting, engraving, enamel, finish, specialist work, and shipping can all affect the final price. I will explain any change before you approve it.

What can change the timing

Design changes, sourcing, and specialist schedules.

Reply time, design changes, finding the right material or stone, technical revisions, outside production schedules, and shipping can change the estimate. A fixed deadline applies only when I accept it in writing.
