Jewelry care

Protect the finish, settings, and small details

Your jewelry is made to be worn, but no fine jewelry is indestructible. A little care will help protect the finish, stone settings, and small details for years to come.

01

Everyday Wear

Remove jewelry before working out or lifting weights, manual labor or using tools, swimming, hot tubs, showering, sleeping, applying lotion, perfume, or hairspray, and using cleaning products.

Chlorine, bleach, household cleaners, and other harsh chemicals may damage silver, finishes, and some gemstones. A gemstone may be durable while the metal holding it can still bend or loosen after impact.

02

Cleaning

  1. Use lukewarm water and a small amount of mild dish soap.
  2. Clean gently with fingers or a very soft toothbrush.
  3. Rinse thoroughly.
  4. Dry completely with a soft, lint-free cloth.

Avoid abrasive brushes, toothpaste, baking soda, unapproved silver dips, and harsh cleaners.

03

Storage

Store pieces dry and separately to reduce scratching. Avoid pressure from other jewelry, hard objects, or cramped containers that could bend fine details or settings.

04

Tarnish and Finish Changes

Silver and applied finishes can change with time, wear, skin chemistry, air, and storage conditions. Polishing can also remove intentional oxidation or alter mixed finishes, so ask before using a polishing product.

05

Gemstones and Enamel

Care depends on the specific stone, setting, enamel, and finish. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are not recommended without checking first.

06

Inspection or Repair

Stop wearing the piece if a stone moves, a setting catches unexpectedly, a joint opens, or the metal is bent. Contact Lunar Forgeworks before attempting a repair.
